So what's the story behind America's Great Loop?
The Great Loop is a 6,000-mile circumnavigation of the eastern United States and the southern part of Canada.
The route includes the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, the New York State Canals, the Canadian Canals, the Great Lakes, the inland rivers, and the Gulf of Mexico.

Why have a blog and share it on social media?
The journey began! On July 2nd, 2021, we left our home port, Houghton, MI, on Lake Superior to start a new chapter in our lives. This site will follow our adventures as Loopers, nomad workers, and explorers. We hope to hit on various topics like places of interest along the historic waterways of Eastern America, diving into what it means to be the ultimate remote or nomad worker. In addition, we tackle tough questions like are “painkillers” better than “Pina Coladas,” and what American Legion post serves the coldest beer in Florida?
Warning: We will update when the mood strikes us or we are stuck in a monsoon. Some of it may be serious and most will not be. So follow us when you can and share our journey with us.
Our “official” start of America’s Great Loop was on July 10th, 2021 when we went under the Mackinaw Bridge! See you next summer Mighty Mac!
