So what's the story behind America's Great Loop?
The Great Loop is a 6,000-mile circumnavigation of the eastern United States and the southern part of Canada.
The route includes the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, the New York State Canals, the Canadian Canals, the Great Lakes, the inland rivers, and the Gulf of Mexico.

The journey began! On July 2nd, 2021, we left our home port, Houghton, MI, on Lake Superior to start a new chapter in our lives. This site is an overview of our adventures as Loopers, nomad workers, and explorers. We hope to visit places of interest along the historic waterways of Eastern America, while experiencing what it means to be the ultimate remote or nomad worker. In addition, we will be looking into things like are “painkillers” better than “Pina Coladas,” and what American Legion post serves the coldest beer in Florida?
Our “official” start of America’s Great Loop was on July 10th, 2021 when we went under the Mackinaw Bridge! See you next summer Mighty Mac!
